Adrien: Ross DFL. No, seriously.

I hit up Ross Dress for Less not long ago and tried on a few dresses. (I think I've already talked about how many of my dresses come from Ross. Sure, it's a lot of crap to dig through, but when you score, it's big.) The first one looked promising on the hanger but oof:


The photo does not fully reveal how baggy and unfortunate this was on. It just hung there all weird and sad.

This dress was Laundry, I think, and looked like the perfect LBD. It was...not:



Again, iPhone photos do not show how weirdly ill-fitting it was. See that fold on the front of the neckline? That's not a design element, that's the material folding in on itself. Really strange fit.

Then I found this cute dress (also Laundry) on the clearance rack for $15:


Not too bad! But a little low-cut. I was over it at that point and handed all the dresses back over to the attendant. A week later I was still thinking about that little black and white print dress and went back to see if it was still there. As I walked to the clearance rack I saw a woman PULL OUT MY DRESS. NO. She considered it and put it in her damn cart. Nooo.

I'm not proud of what I did next. Yes, I dress-stalked her. I continued to browse but kept a close eye on her. Eventually after 15 or 20 minutes of close surveillance I saw her reconsider and put the dress back on the rack. I pounced. And bought. And wore it last Sunday for lunch at my mother's house:
