Marianne: Land's End Canvas Fit and Flare dress

So, a couple of weeks back I saw on Pudding and the Post-Fab Princess that the Land's End Canvas Fit-and-Flare dress was on sale for crazy cheap. And free shipping! I am powerless to free shipping, I tell you. And, you already know that I was seriously coveting this dress all summer long. So, yeah, I bought it. In a size 8, which fit splendidly, EXCEPT it was short. Short in the waist, length, even in the armpits.

I returned the dress at my local Sears and they sent the next size up to me, with free shipping. I love that! Thankfully, the size 10 was a good inch longer everywhere. However, it's loose in the bust and waist. I've decided that I can deal with that by adding a belt, it's worth it for the length. And really, for $26, it's worth holding on to. Don't you think?

I think I can wear this into fall with a cardigan and boots, too. The skirt is a nice, sturdy, yet soft twill.

I found this belt at T.J. Maxx for a steal and fretted over whether or not it fit. Thankfully, it stretched about five minutes after I put it on, and I love it. The color is wonderful.

I found the necklace last fall at a wonderful store here in Knoxville, Abode. Sadly, I was in a postpartum haze and cannot remember who makes it! I love the color and size of it. It's a real attention getter.

Because of the colorful belt and necklace, I went with black for the accessories. In the office I also wore a black cardigan.
