I'm wearing my new Gap pants today and I think they're probably too big. I am TERRIBLE at buying pants for some reason. Do they look too big? Why can't I figure this out before I rip the tags off?
top: Banana Republic (similar)
cardigan: Talbots Charming Cardigan
pants: Gap Perfect Trouser
shoes: Clark's Indigo Sylvie
bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAM
watch: La Mer
Hmm. I can't really tell without seeing the waistband. They look like they fit from the side but there is a little extra fabric in the crotch area, maybe?
ReplyDeleteI always feel that way about wider-legged pants... love them but feel like I'm getting swallowed alive after so many skinnies.
ReplyDeleteThe thighs and butt look like they fit great (really the only thing that matters!) just not used to the wider leg on you!
yeah, Marianne, if there's a crotch issue, would a belt help?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'm comfortable with you guys discussing my crotch issue.
ReplyDeleteCROTCHY
ReplyDeleteThey're not too big, there's just enough room for Thanksgiving dinner. But no, I really do like the fit. And I LOVE that top, it's so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love this look. I see a bit of extra material in the crotch but I think if you sized down there wouldn't be enough and that is much worse. Your hair also looks super-cute today too!
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favorite outfit of yours that you've posted! Regardless of your crotch issue. Which I am also uncomfortable discussing.
ReplyDeleteI have to chime in here. According to Tim Gunn, you should never buy pants that don't fit in the rise because that is the on area that alterations can't address successfully. And Tim Gunn knows his shit. (Commentary provided after a pint of Guiness and two glasses of wine, but I still believe TG.)
ReplyDeleteI love the subtle pattern mixing! I think the pants can be saved if you have them hemmed, it's a fixable situation for sure!
