Marianne: Okay, FINE. I want some jeggings.

Okay. OKAY. I want some jeggings. Fine. I've fought it and told myself that skinny jeans are enough, thank you very much. And really, isn't the word jeggings repellant? UGH.

And yet, I want some. While I am a big fan of premium denim, this screams "TREND" to me, so I won't be shelling out for them. And so, here are the jeggings that I have my eye on:

The pair on the far right, from Khol's, are only $19.99, y'all. However, I'm leaning towards the Levi's (roughly $30). The Gap version looks great, and I love my Gap skinny jeans, but even with the weekend's 30% off I think they are too much to spend on the trend. And while I keep hearing great things about American Eagle's denim, I don't know if I am up for navigating a new brand right now.

My main specifications are: must be denim-like, not leggings printed with a denim print. Must be sturdy and heavy weight enough to not show every lumpy bump. Must be $40 or less (ideally less!). And I'd really like them to look like jeans all the way up.

Do you wear jeggings? What brand do you love? Am I missing out on a great deal from somewhere else?

  1. I have a pair of denim leggings (refuse to say jeggings, it's too awful) from Joe's Jeans that I really love. If you ever tuck jeans into boots, you need denim leggings. I was really tempted to buy another pair from LOFT today. They were on sale for $20, plus another 30% off. The rise was a bit low, though. But they're worth checking out, for that price.

  2. I have a pair and LOVE them! The ones I got (from F21) have an elastic waist like regular leggings. No zip-fly, pockets, etc. They are denim fabric though (that jersey w/ the denim print is just plain gross!) I wear long tops/sweaters with them. SO COMFY!

  3. my two best pairs of jeggings are james jeans from anthro. they were both $29.99 on sale. if you have an anthro with racks of sale jeans, i'd start there.

  4. Wah, no anthro here. But I am definitely going to check out LOFT for that great deal! And if I can muster up the bravery to hit F21, I'll do that too. Thanks, guys!

  5. Mine look just like jeans but wear like pajamma pants. Bandolino brand at Belk, $29.99. Belk also has their DKNY jeggings on major sale for $20.29, regularly $59.00.

  6. I just got a coupon for an additional 15% off sale items at Belk! I think this is the winner!

  7. I have heard great things about the Gap ones--that they are thick and denimy enough to give some good shaping control, but soft like leggings. I am considering the maternity ones, but you can't use the Give and Get code on those. Boo.

  8. I don't know if you have an Urban Planet near you, but they have some great ones that are really comfy, and less than $20 a pair. Lots of colours, soft and comfy. I love mine.

  9. Mich, I ended up buying those LOFT leggings! You can't beat $14, even if the rise is a tad low. They will do for the time being.

Thanks everyone else for the advice! If I like the ones I bought I am sure I'll be wanting more in no time.

  10. I'm glad they worked for you! I'm still considering going back for the pair I tried on.

  11. At my store, only the petites were on sale. I tried on both the regular and petites and didn't notice a difference in fit other than the length. Since I'm going to wear them with boots, I don't care that they are short. They aren't perfect, but damn, $14. Thank you again for the heads up, I wouldn't have looked there otherwise!

  12. I have a pair of the Gap's Always Skinny jeans. They're not true jeggings, but are really soft and stretchy. Other than that, I swear by Silver, a Canadian brand.
