Adrien: Stuff I Like - Skin & Bones

Last year we posted a review of Skin & Bones moisturizer which I really love, though when I wrote that I hadn't yet started using it on my face regularly. I was a little wary about putting oil on my face, but I got over it and started using it as my primary nighttime moisturizer last fall. And I have to tell you guys, my skin loves it. I purchased the regular sized-bottle and in the summer it's pretty much all I need (though in the dead of winter I needed to layer another moisturizer over it.) My skin is not super-model perfect, but it certainly looks good and I use less makeup as a result. Bonus!

So, when I saw that Heidi had released a new liquid cleanser, I got all excited and asked her if I could have a sample to try out:

The samples arrived in super cute little violet bottles and I was so excited to try it. The cleanser smells just like the moisturizer - a mix of Frankincense, Myrrh, Ylang Ylang, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Cedarwood, Lemon, Rosewood and Sandalwood. As I mentioned in my last review, I am pretty scent-sensitive, but I really love the way it smells. A bit natural and spicy but not overpowering.

I've been using the cleanser on my face for about a week and so far I really like it. I only use it at night to remove my makeup and it does a really good job. It feels luxurious, lathers and cleans well, but doesn't dry out my skin. The only thing I don't love is the little black jojoba beads, but that's just a personal preference as I prefer to exfoliate as a separate step.

I've been using the moisturizer immediately after cleansing and the oil sinks right in. In the morning I just rinse my face and use my regular SPF daytime moisturizer. So far, this has been working for me really well! Highly recommend.

Just a disclaimer: This is my own personal review of a product line I already use and like. I haven't received any compensation!

  1. OK, weirdly awesome - I just ordered some Skin & Bones based on your previous review. Was saving my pennies, and glad to know it's still worth it!
