Marianne: A Challenge.

Well, I did it. I wore open-toed shoes with tights and lived to tell the tale. Since I first got these shoes, I knew their mustardy yellow suedeness (it's a word) was screaming fall/winter, but let's face it. I don't live in a place where people are rocking the tights and open toes. And if they are, it's more likely to be Easy Spirits and L'Eggs.
What's funny is, I've worn these shoes approximately a half million times since I got them, but they have never gotten so much attention before. And not negative attention, either. It's like the contrast of the opaque black tights perfectly showed them off. I mean, someone called me fabulous. That's good stuff right there.
So, what do you think? Do you live in a world that's more Real Simple than Vogue? And do you dare wear the open toed shoes with tights? Do tell.

  1. Easy Spirits and L'Eggs...(snort). Ah, that's a look I'm all too familiar with.

I love the look and I might give it a go, though I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to pull off the mustard yellow and black. I might start with something a little more neutral and work my way up.

    It's an awesome look though!

  2. I wear open toe shoes and tights a lot. I have a pair of brown Tstrap peep-toe pumps that look great with tights.

As long as the shoes are not too strappy and the tights are dark, you look great.

  3. Fabulous indeed! I love this look. I have yet to try it, but every time I see someone rock the open toed shoes/tights look, it reminds me that I need to make it happen!

  4. I love the look, and I live in L.A., so I sometimes do it with purple or teal tights and black open-toe shoes. Sometimes, it still feels a little "much."
