I keep wearing these pants thinking they'll magically be slouchy-chic but they just continue to be The World's Blandest Gap Khakis. I actually like the outfit as a whole but as usual when I try for something casual I end up feeling crumbled and sloppy by the end of the day. (And my camera is apparently only doing blurry these days, my apologies.)

See, I love this outfit. However, I know EXACTLY what you speak of regarding feeling bland and rumpled.
ReplyDeleteI had a pair of khaki pants that, despite fitting well, I eventually had to just give away. They always made me feel like I should be working at Target.
This pretty much sums up my feeling about khaki pants perfectly. Also, I am starting to learn that I just can't do perfectly rumpled and slouchy. I just look chubby and sloppy.
DeleteThat said, you look cute A.
Thanks you guys. I actually like the outfit in the photos, but felt kinda schlubby wearing it.
Delete(Okay. I see now that you actually didn't use the word "bland." Um, that's how *I* feel when I wear khakis. Didn't mean to put words in your mouth.)
ReplyDeleteBut I did! I called them The World's Blandest Gap Khakis.
DeleteI had those EXACT pants and gave them away a few months ago. I just couldn't make them work at all without feeling bland and sloppy and kind of mom-like (and I am a mom, so nothing against moms here). The commenter above who said she feels like she should be working at Target??? Nailed it.
ReplyDeletei agree that those are not Incredibly Exciting pants, but some days you just need easy casual outfits, and this fits the bill. Off topic, but you have amazing hair-- it suits you perfectly. Can you do a post on your hair?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've not considered that, but maybe I should? Hmm.
