Marianne: So cold. So freaking cold.

Don't adjust your monitor, I am in fact dressed for fall on this very hot and humid day. But you see, my office, like so many places of business, thinks that the ideal indoor temperature is somewhere between "meat locker" and "igloo". So while it's fun to wear all of the summer dresses I love, I end up with my teeth chattering and fingers clinched in a rictus of frostbitten pain.

And so, I layer. Once again, my most favorite jacket saves the day, keeping me covered without being uncomfortably (or unseasonably) heavy. And yes, that's a WOOL scarf in my purse. I'm that cold.

I bought this top for $10 at T.J. Maxx, because hello. $10 striped shirt? Okay! I like it but I think it has a bit too much going on. Contrast stripes plus epaulets plus tiny pockets plus button placket plus button sleeves. It's kind of a lot. I love the raglan hem, though.

Do you see what I mean? Like it was hit with all of the garment construction details possible. Aside: I've been using some Josie Maran Tinted Moisturizer for a couple of weeks now and I am in LOVE. I like it even more than the Bobbi Brown stuff and it doesn't break me out like Laura Mercier. Seriously, this stuff is worth seeking out. I am wearing it in Linen, because I'm fairly tan at the moment, and it makes my skin glow. I don't even add concealer on top of it. Such good stuff and I think the tube will last for quite a while.

Is your office freezing cold? How do you dress for it?

  1. My office is so cold that I have an electric blanket under my desk and I use it year round. And I live and work in Florida - where its hotter than 40 hells 9 months out of the year. The building manager forbids electric heaters because of some kind of ridic fire hazzard or whatever. I will NOT be cold!

  2. An interesting thing happened when I threw a complete crazy bitching fit about how cold my cubicle is: They fixed it.

I know -- you coulda knocked me over with a feather. So now, finally now I don't have to dress for Fall any longer!

    Shhhh. Don't jinx it.

  3. I keep a space heater going all the time. Sometimes I open the kitchen window (the only window that opens) to mitigate the freeze on that side of the building but the fussy hens flap their wings and close it and then send around passive-agressive emails about how we need to keep it closed to not waste energy. We'd waste a lot less if it wasn't 55 degrees inside.
