Marianne: New stuff!

I feel like I've been kind of shoppy lately, but you know what? It's fall and that means winter is coming and I hate winter and I shop to forget.

Ahem. Anyway, look at my super cute new dress! It's ridiculously comfortable and has long sleeves, two of the things I find elusive in fall dresses. Collective Concepts (the designer) has some crazy cute dresses with sleeves, all of them under $80 and yes, I want this one. And this one. Aaaah, so shoppy.

Notice anything else new? Come on, you know you have a mental index of all of my clothes. Okay, fine. I have been coveting some Rachel Comey Mars booties, but I fear they are so uber trendy that I can't justify buying them. Oh, and they are also FOUR HUNDRED FREAKING DOLLARS WHAT THE HELL. So, when I spotted these Old Navy boots for a mere $30, I decided it was worth a try even if they would undoubtedly lead to heartache and tears.

Guess what? They are kind of awesome. I normally can't tolerate fake leather, but this looks and feels real. They are super comfortable and I might have to pick up a black pair now. Old Navy! Who knew?

My only complaint is that they only come in whole sizes. I bought a size 8 and they are a touch big, but not unwearably so.

dress: Collective Concepts Confetti Shirt Dress (okay fine I want this one too)
bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Mag Bag

  1. Dang you for always making me want to shop!! Great dress. That second shot looks like it should be in a magazine for an article on boots. I just can't get onboard with buying shoes from Old Navy. I always feel as if I will take 14 steps and suddenly the heel will fall off or they will split at the seams or the sole will become unattached, leavuing me to flippedy flop into a meeting or dinner date or somewhere I am trying to impress. I can MacGyver together a brokedn shirt or dress or skirt. MacGyvering broken shoes worry me.
Blah , blah, blah. Etc., etc., etc. Curious to see how the boots hold up because I love them and want them.

    1. It's a crapshoot for sure. But for $30 and a trendy style, I am okay with risking it. I'll keep you posted!

  2. Hehehe. My favorite metallic Grecian style sandals were $20 at Old Navy. I have worn them for 2 Miami summers now (which are like, 6-9 months long) and they are just now looking like they might need to retire soon. Luckily I was smart and snagged a second pair! I bought them on a whim and was sooooo amazed. I may have to grab a pair of these!
