So, you all might remember that I'm big into mountain biking and with this sport comes some distinctly un-blogger-like afflictions. Right now I have a couple of giant bruises on both my legs from a fall as well as a wicked case of poison ivy on my left arm. Nice! I'm basically a leper and it's forced me to be slightly more modestly dressed. I balance this by wearing pants that are clearly a bit too tight. Girl's gotta do something, you know?

I'm curious, as a fellow lady cyclist, how you find good pants. I have been stuck in slim-legged stretchy jeans for-evuh, because ladies' sizing is hell if you have muscle structure... As in, I've got big quads, big calves, no butt, and a small waist. I've had some success with "curvy" fit stretchy jeans (because they kinda squish around as needed), but honestly, I'm not that curvy (see: no butt). Any lines you've found offer a little more leg room, without being all 70's about it?
ReplyDeleteI rarely do. The pair I'm wearing above are definitely in the slim-legged stretchy jeans category and I pretty much never wear dress pants because they don't fit correctly. Sorry, I'm zero help.
DeleteBoSanBo, I am also a lady cyclist (hooray for lady cyclists that are also stylin'!) and believe it or not, I have heard good things about Old Navy curvy fit jeans. I also own 2 pairs of skinny jeans from Charlotte Russe I bought years ago but who knows if they still cut them the same way as they used to.
ReplyDeleteNow, if I could get Curvy in a Short pant length also.... but perhaps we can't solve all the world's problems in one post....
Mini-legs over here, too. I'm looking for actual *pants* though, as I have plenty of jeans. Thank you, Briget!
DeleteAnd for Adrien and all the rest of us, I'm going to try Outlier pants: http://shop.outlier.cc/retail/pants/
They're meant for riding, but the black lady's pants look pretty sharp. And meant for riding might = built for riders?
Oh, nice! Definitely report back on them. I'm curious.
Deletehi! sorry... a little late to the game (i was away on vacation)... i'm a mountain biker too and i'd actually love if you did a write up on your experiences... whether it's trails or clothing or choosing a bike or whatever... it's just nice to see another chick on a mountain bike :)
ReplyDeleteHi Miss JR! I have thought about doing this but I think most of our audience would probably not be interested. I did do an entry a few years back about jerseys:

I also have a mountain bike blog that I never update because I'm the worst.(I really need to start posting there again):
