Adrien: A Few Products I Don't Hate.

I always feel like such a jerk when I post about beauty products I love because often the love fades or a new favorite is found and then I feel like a fickle teenager. (Which I kind of am when it comes to beauty products, but whatever.) I've already posted a few entries about the products I'm committed to, but there's also a whole range of things I'd gladly throw over if I found something better. You know how it is.

So, here's what I've been liking lately:

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Mushroom. I've raved about the 24/7 liners before and this is a new color that I bought a few months ago. Its probably too light for a lot of people but I don't generally wear much dark eye makeup in the summer so for me it's the perfect pewter-taupe color. It's got a little shimmer to it but it's not glittery, and it lasts all day. Good stuff.

Bumble & bumble Shine On. During my last B&b bloodletting I ordered a tiny bottle of this to see if I could make my hair shine like the top of the Chrysler building. It's pretty damn good stuff and yes, it makes my head shiny. It smells nice too, a very subtle jasmine scent. BUT, they are not kidding with the "use sparingly" directive. I basically just spray it near my head and duck through it like perfume. It's good stuff but I'm sure there are shine sprays that work just as well and cost a whole lot less.

Bumble & bumble Straight Blow Dry. I got a deluxe sample of this and I've been using a tiny dab on the middle-to-end sections of my hair before blow-drying. It really does help to straighten and gives my hair a little weight and texture and helps to keep the humidity-frizz at bay. The downside: It smells like a dude. (I can't even put my finger on it - some element of lavender or musk?)  I don't understand this because while I get that B&b is a unisex brand, how many guys are blow-drying their hair straight? Anyway, it works really well, I use it, I don't really love the smell but it doesn't linger.

Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Rose. I've talked before about the Fresh Sugar lip stuff in Plum, which I also love and grudgingly repurchase again and again despite it really being too expensive for tinted lipbalm. This is the summer version that I've found myself reaching for a lot. It's great for giving you a little polish without looking too made up. It's very sheer and would probably look nice on most complexions. Like it's counterpart, it's too expensive for what it is but that obviously never stopped me.

So, what are your latest beauty, "I kinda really like this...for now" products?

  1. I don't know what it is, but I like the smell of the Bb Straight Blow Dry. The product works well for me, too.

  2. Did you get the Strivectin eye concentrate in your Birchbox a couple of months ago? I loved it so much I just got a whole Strivectin kit. I really notice a big difference in my eyes, but I'm older than you so you don't need it as much ;)

Speaking of eyes, what is your favorite eye primer? Just bought a new kind but I think the woman at Sephora steered me wrong, it is not great.

    1. No Strivectin eye stuff for me but now I want it. Oooh. The eye stuff I'm using right now does jack shit.

As for eye primer, I'm still using Urban Decay Primer Potion. It's my favorite. What did the Sephora lady make you buy?

  3. It's something called Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I should've known by that stupid name that it wouldn't be any good. I'll try the Urban Decay, thanks!
