I do think there's some value in figuring out what suits you and culling the rest. What you're left with should, in theory, work. So, blah blah blah this is what I wore Saturday to go to lunch and a movie with my friend Kate:
White Ann Taylor jeans, a black James Perse scoopneck tee and my Giles and Brothers hook necklace. All things I wear a lot because they all just...work. A note about the tee: I am generally happy with Everlane cotton v-necks (can't beat $15!) but I bought this James Perse tee a few years back at Nordstrom Rack and every time I wear it I'm just...happy. It fits nicely, the slub fabric is substantial without being heavy and it keeps it's shape. I can't find my exact tee online but this is a good price for their banded scoopneck tee.

And, the same old favorites: MBMJ Too Hot To Handle Hobo and Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. There is no good cheap alternative to the Birkenstocks (in my opinion) but a taupe-grey hobo is definitely something to consider. I also love this Studio Moda handbag version and this Minkoff tote. This color is especially great if you're a one-bag person. Just saying.
As a long time reader, I just wanted to let you know how fantastic I thought this outfit is. I have always kind of assumed that white jeans were a photoshoot-only piece of clothing. You look super pulled together, but also like the cool sister (who might let me borrow her clothing) that I desperately want but don't have.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! What a nice comment. Now, go buy yourself some white jeans! They're super easy, I swear.
DeleteHow about eBay?
