WANTY: Grey Booties HALP.

You guys. It's like a switch got flipped and I CANNOT REST until I have grey/taupe booties in my life. It's still hot enough for sandals and I don't care. I'm ready for the change. I give in. Bring it on, autumn (but you can keep your pumpkin spice garbage and OMG with the cinnamon pinecones. No.)

ANYWAY, I've been back and forth on what I really want/need and have to admit that the booties currently 30% off at Madewell (bags too!) definitely tempted me. Particularly the Janice boot:

It's a nice one, right? And the Frankie Chelsea even though the heel is verging on too high for true all day comfort:

I threw it all at Marianne who very wisely suggested that grey booties would fill a bigger hole in my closet and she's right. I must focus. I've had my eye on this pair of Lucky Brand Bashina Perforated Booties:

Alas, I think they were part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and they're sold out in my size there and everywhere. No worries, there's also this pair, the Lucky Brand Basel, which I like quite a bit:

Hooray, they're available in my size! And they are a more "me" color and I could probably wear them with socks when it gets colder. (Can I? This perf thing is new to me.)  But, to further complicate things, I also found this pair by Sam Edelman:

This is the Petty boot in putty which is a perfect taupe-y neutral but there's also a darker slate colorway that I think would be more versatile for me with the black heel:

I KNOW. I know. I don't know. Which one? Which color? They're all about the same price point. They're all real damn cute. Help me, please?

  1. Love the Basel perf pair (which should be ok with skintone socks?!), and the Sam Eldelmans. I prefer the look of the first pair, but agree that the second would likely go with more.

  2. I like the very last one, with the dark slate color. I think it would work well with a range of outfits.

  3. I bought these in gray last year and just adore them. Limited sizes available in gray at 6pm.com, and in brown at zappos.

  4. I've heard great things about the petty booties. I have a pair of Franco Sorto from Nordies that I'm wearing today and love! http://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/sarto-by-franco-sarto-garfield-western-bootie-women/4327886?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=BLACK%20LEATHER

  5. I love the Bashinas, the Basels and the dark last ones. So spensive for nice shoes though isn't it? I would love some like this but don't think they are in my budget right now.

  7. I don't know about this perforated trend, it looks cute, but I'd hate to be limited by the weather to wear them. It rains here half the winter, so they would be sitting in my closet. I'd go with the Pettys.

  8. This will NOT help at all, but I own the Edelman boots and a nearly identical Lucky Brand pair and I wear them all the time. Also, I wear short beige socks with perforated boots and you can't see them. Boots with bare feet seem icky to me. I think that the Lucky brand boots might be slightly more comfortable(?) And I would buy those taupe Bashina in a hot second.

  9. I have the Petty boot in two colors and have wanted them in grey for ages. I wish they had some sort of two for one deal so I could buy them in even more colors.

I bought the Frye Sacha shortie in Grey, too (found for an amazing price)
