Out Sick.

Hey, guess what? The Covid pandemic isn't over. Ask me how I know. Yep, I've got it and it sucks. I'm taking a few more days off but just wanted to mention that Madewell made a big ass out of me with that last stupid sale because now everything is 25% and all I can do is stare at the cute new stuff I have hanging in my closet that I can't wear yet. BOO. And of course I want MORE cute stuff because I'm sick and feeling sorry for myself.

I mean, how could this beautiful dress not make me feel slightly better? I just feel like it would:

And because hope spring eternal, maybe this is the year Madewell makes a perfect pair of denim cut-offs for me:

I've already told you about this top which is basically your perfect, floaty summer top to wear with cut-offs and Birkenstocks, or I assume it is because mine is still hanging sadly in my closet with the tags still on waiting to be loved. SIGH:

I'm not sure how these cute ass clog sandals got past me but they're SO CUTE RIGHTThe camel color is close to sold out but I kind of love the dusty mauve better (I'm posting the styled photo because it seems like that's the actual color, not the brighter pink in the product shots):

And finally, this is one of the few times a year where Madewell puts their leather jackets on sale. The green (dark forest) washed leather didn't work for me (I got the wrong size and the green one smells weird) but I'd get the black one with brass hardware in a second. I don't think it's worth full price, but at 25% off, it's not a bad deal:

Okay, that's it from me for a while. I'll be back in a few days and will tell you all the stuff I read and watched from my sick bed.

  1. Hope you are on the mend soon!!

On a more frivolous note, I love that dress you listed first (and missed it in my own Madewell perusal), but I wish it came in more exciting colors than white and tan. I guess I will have to comfort myself with the several midi sundresses I already own (that it has been too chilly to wear yet).

    1. It comes in two other print versions and a mini version--just search "joanna" on the Madewell site

  2. Oh no. Hope you are feeling better soon. What are your symptoms? I have a dry cough and stuffy nose but tested negative but wouldn't be surprised it I had it. I love those shorts but I can't get my head around $100 American for cut offs. Do they last do you find?

    1. They're under $60 with the discount, which doesn't seem outrageous to me? I don't actually own any Madewell cut offs, but I do have tons of Madewell jeans and really love them.

    2. Oh, and my current symptoms are nasal congestion and fatigue, but it started with a headache, low fever and nausea. No fun!

  3. Oh no! I had the plague last week, and still feel like I'm at about 55%. Here is my watchlist of entertainment/plague/war/awful shit distractions: Gaslit (amazon), The Offer (amazon), I Love that for You! (also amazon), The Motive (Netflix), Candy (Hulu), The Dropout (Hulu), Shining Vale (amazon) and the new Kids in the Hall. Feel better soon!

    1. The Valet (on Hulu) is also rather delightful - if you need yet more to watch!

  4. Ack, I hope you feel better, like, NOW, and don't have any dragging after-symptoms. I had it in February and it took at least three weeks before the mental cloud lifted. Don't feel bad about feeling bad, I'm saying. I spent my sick days on Disney+ watching cartoons.
